City Beautiful gets rains of Sawan, relief from heat.. just wait a little for monsoon

Monsoon will arrive in Chandigarh soon. According to the Meteorological Department, this time the monsoon is running a little ahead of normal. The people of Chandigarh are going to get relief from the heat in the coming week, as the southwest monsoon is rapidly moving towards North India.

When the people of City Beautiful woke up on Friday morning, they were welcomed by showers of rain. Along with Chandigarh, rain also provided relief from heat in Panchkula and Mohali.

Surinder Pal, Director of Chandigarh Meteorological Center, says that the monsoon has picked up its pace in the states of North India and now it is expected to reach Punjab and Chandigarh soon. The southwest monsoon may knock in Chandigarh.

The Meteorological Department says that at present the monsoon has reached most parts of Bihar and some more parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh. In such a situation, the city dwellers are also likely to get relief from the long-running humidity and heat. There will be chances of cloudy weather and light rain in Chandigarh and surrounding areas for the next few days.

It will rain from 20th to 23rd June

The weather department has predicted rain from 20th June to 23rd June. During this time, a yellow alert has been issued. It has been advised to stay in safe places during the rain. Along with rain, strong winds can blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour. There will be no rain on 24th June, after that it will rain again. The weather department has issued a warning of lightning and thunder at some places throughout the week.

Humidity troubled

On Thursday, the humid heat troubled people. The maximum temperature of the city was 36.9 degrees Celsius, which was normal. The minimum temperature was 27.5 degrees Celsius, which was 1 degree more than normal. People faced a lot of trouble due to the humid heat. For the next five days, the maximum temperature will remain between 32 to 34 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the minimum temperature is expected to remain between 26 to 27 degrees Celsius. However, both may also fall after the rain.
