In a major action on Saturday morning, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided several places simultaneously in Panchkula, Haryana. The raid was conducted against former Assistant Drug Controller of Himachal Pradesh Nishant Sareen, his associate Dr. Komal Khanna and fake IB officer Vinay Aggarwal. ED teams were present at their residences located in Suncity Parikrama Society, Sector 20, Panchkula from 4 am and took action.
According to the information, a case of corruption is already registered against Nishant Sareen by the Vigilance Department. The case was registered in the year 2019 on charges of taking bribe from pharma companies. He is accused of demanding illegal money for drug related clearance and permission and arbitrarily giving permissions by taking bribe from many pharma companies.
In this case, the ED saw the possibility of money laundering and intensified the investigation under the Money Laundering Act. In this sequence, raids have been conducted at his places in Panchkula today. According to sources, important documents, electronic devices and papers related to some suspicious transactions have been recovered during the raid.
This action of ED has created a stir in the pharma sector and government departments. The investigating agencies are now also investigating in which properties and transactions the bribe money has been used. More big revelations may happen in this case in the coming days.
