Ludhiana, Punjab | June 2025: In a shocking incident in Punjab’s Ludhiana, Kuldeep Singh Mundian, former personal assistant (PA) to ex-MP and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Jagdev Singh Talwandi, was brutally murdered in public view. The incident, captured on a mobile phone by a passerby, occurred late at night on Missing Link 2 Highway near Dhandra Road.
Chilling Attack Caught on Camera
The disturbing video footage shows four men chasing Kuldeep Singh’s Volkswagen car in a Swift, intercepting him on the highway, dragging him out, and mercilessly assaulting him with swords. Even though Kuldeep, estimated to be around 65 years old, was pleading for help, no one intervened. A gunshot is also heard in the video.
Suspected Motive: Land Dispute
Preliminary information from the crime scene suggests that the attack may be linked to a property dispute, as the deceased was also involved in real estate. However, neither the police nor family members have officially confirmed the motive as of now.
Who Was Kuldeep Singh Mundian?
Kuldeep was a resident of Mundian village and had served as the personal aide to veteran Akali Dal leader Jagdev Singh Talwandi. After spending some time abroad, he had returned to Ludhiana and resumed his property dealings. On the night of the murder, he was returning from his farmhouse when he was attacked.
Eyewitnesses Informed Police Control Room
Passersby who saw Kuldeep lying in a pool of blood immediately contacted the police control room. Officers from Sadar Police Station (SHO Avneet Kaur) and Dugri Police Station (SHO Parmveer Singh) rushed to the spot. A team from CIA-1 also arrived for forensic investigation.
Kuldeep was taken to Ludhiana Civil Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Family in Shock, Thought It Was an Accident
Kuldeep’s relative Harjeet Singh revealed that initially the family assumed it was an accident.
“Only after we saw the body, we realized it was a brutal murder,” he said, adding that farm worker Gursewak called the family to inform them of the incident.
Police Investigation Underway
SHO Avneet Kaur confirmed that the deceased was attacked with sharp-edged weapons and brutally beaten on the roadside.
“We are investigating the incident from multiple angles. The exact motive will become clear only after we speak to the family and examine all evidence,” she added.
