Chandigarh, June 2025: Police have arrested the fourth accused in the June 11 firing and assault incident in the Daddumajra EWS Colony, where a woman was injured and a group of assailants created panic. The accused, identified as Subhash Kumar alias Shubham, a resident of Zirakpur in Mohali, was arrested by the Maloya police and a desi katta (country-made pistol) was recovered from his possession.
Incident Recap: Armed Attack on Woman in Daddumajra
On the night of June 11, 2025, a group of 5–6 youths reportedly attacked Rani Devi, a local woman, near the DMC Colony, using sticks, rods, and pistols. On-duty constables Ashish and Vijay witnessed the chaos and rushed toward the scene, causing the accused to flee—leaving behind a motorbike at the spot.
Accused Identified & Arrests So Far
Initial investigation led to the identification of Subhash (Shubham), Ankit, Nikki, Sahil, Haseen, Vikas alias Batti, and others as part of the violent group. Prior to this arrest:

Shubham, who had been on the run, was nabbed from Chandigarh during a raid led by Maloya SHO Inspector Jasbir Singh.
Pistol Seized, Motive Under Probe
During his arrest, police seized a country-made pistol (desi katta) from Shubham. He is currently being interrogated to determine:
