According to Bhajan Kaur:
“They started abusing and assaulted both me and my husband, Bhajan Singh. They threatened to evict us from the village and falsely accused me of theft before fleeing the scene.”
Both victims were later admitted to Civil Hospital Jalandhar for medical treatment. Following preliminary investigation and statement recording by ASI Rajinder Singh, an FIR was registered after extended inquiry.

📢 Sarpanch’s Response: “A False Case Under Political Pressure”
Sarpanch Bharti and her husband Manohar Lal have denied the allegations, stating:
“This FIR is the result of political pressure. Bhajan Singh and his wife are known habitual thieves in the village. They’ve been involved in several theft incidents, and the Panchayat has resolved past cases through written compromise with victims.”
⚖️ Ongoing Investigation
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter. Local sources suggest the case may intensify political tension in the village ahead of upcoming Panchayat proceedings.
