Crime Branch has arrested a thief who used to steal from houses in Chandigarh and two people who bought stolen goods. Jewelry, laptop, mobile, cash and documents have been recovered from the accused.
The main accused Rajesh alias Kancha is a drug addict and used to steal goods and sell them to his acquaintances Rohit and Lallu. Rohit and Lallu used to pay him cash and keep the stolen goods with themselves.
Three cases are already registered against Rajesh, while Rohit has two cases under NDPS Act. No criminal record of Lallu has been found.
Theft was committed in Dhanas
An FIR was lodged in Police Station Sarangpur on 2 July 2025, in which complainant Radha wife of Manoj, resident of House No. 225/B, Small Flat, Dhanas stated that 3 mobile phones (Vivo V30E Silk Blue, Oppo F17 Navy Blue and another Oppo Blue colour), a bag full of jewellery consisting of 08 pairs of silver anklets, 02 gold mangalsutras, 03 pairs of gold earrings, 01 gold tika, 01 gold Om locket, 04 gold nose rings, 01 gold ring, 06 pairs of silver anklets, 01 silver waistband, 02 silver bracelets, 08 silver rings, 01 silver chain, 01 Titan watch, ₹20,000 cash, 02 pen drives, driving license and ATM cards were stolen from her house.
