🚨 Haryana Gangwar Bloodshed: One Killed, Another Injured in 15-Round Firing Near Jind-Rohtak Border

Jind/Rohtak (Haryana), July 7, 2025:
A chilling gangwar-style attack unfolded near the Jind-Rohtak border in Haryana on Sunday night, leaving one person dead and another seriously injured. The gruesome incident occurred around 9 PM, when two bike-borne youth were ambushed by assailants riding two separate motorcycles.

The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Rishi Lohan, a resident of Rajpura Bhain village in Jind district. His associate, Manish, a kabaddi player from the same village, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and is currently undergoing treatment at Rohtak PGIMS.

🔴 The Attack: Brutal, Pre-Planned, and Deadly

As per preliminary police reports and eyewitness accounts, Rishi and Manish were en route to Rohtak on a motorcycle. Upon reaching near Pauli petrol pump, located just past Julana, they were suddenly surrounded by four armed assailants on two bikes.

The attackers, without any verbal exchange, opened fire from both front and rear, spraying bullets on the two victims. At least 15 rounds were fired, creating panic and chaos in the area.

Manish told the police, “They came from both sides. As soon as Rishi was hit and fell from the bike, I tried to flee, but they shot me too. Even after Rishi was on the ground, they kept firing at him.”

🔴 Rishi Shot 8-10 Times: Died on the Spot

According to police sources, Rishi Lohan was hit by 8 to 10 bullets. He died instantly on the spot. Passersby who initially thought it was a road accident rushed the victims to Rohtak PGI Hospital, where it was revealed that Rishi had succumbed to bullet wounds.

The intense gunfire shattered the calm of the evening and caused massive panic among commuters, especially due to the sheer number of rounds fired.

🔴 Victim’s Criminal Background Raises Gangwar Suspicions

Police records confirm that Rishi Lohan had a notorious past. He had 12 criminal cases registered against him, including murder, extortion, kidnapping, and Arms Act violations. According to officials, he had been active in criminal circles since his college days, and his name had surfaced multiple times in inter-gang rivalry reports.

Rishi was unmarried and lived with his younger brother, a student. His father, a farmer, had passed away several years ago. Police are now verifying whether Rishi was heading to a meeting or deal when he was attacked.

🔴 Injured Manish Not Linked to Crime

Unlike Rishi, the second victim, Manish, has no criminal history. He is a well-known local kabaddi player and had not been involved in any illegal activity. Authorities are probing his exact role in the incident and trying to understand why he was traveling with Rishi, and whether he was an unwilling companion or knew about any threats.

🔴 Police Responded to “Accident Alert,” Discovered Murder Later

Julana SHO Ravindra Kumar said the initial call they received was regarding a road accident near Pauli petrol pump. “Upon reaching Rohtak PGI, we found that it was a case of targeted shooting and not an accident,” he told the media.

The police have since sealed the crime scene, and forensic teams are analyzing bullet casings and CCTV footage from nearby shops and traffic posts.

🔴 Case Linked to Ongoing Gang Rivalry in Haryana?

Though no gang has taken responsibility for the attack, officials strongly suspect the incident is gang-related. Given Rishi’s criminal background and history of violent confrontations, investigators believe this was a revenge killing or a power struggle within criminal networks operating in central Haryana.

Officials are not ruling out the possibility that the shooters had connections in Rohtak or Delhi, and are coordinating with neighboring district police to track the escape route used by the accused.

🔴 High-Caliber Firearms Used, Investigators Say

Ballistic experts suggest that automatic pistols or semi-automatic handguns were used in the attack. The number of bullets fired, the accuracy, and the speed of the execution all indicate a professional-style hit, likely planned in advance and executed with military precision.

The use of high-speed motorcycles, coordinated timing, and targeted aggression suggests that the attackers were well-informed about Rishi’s movements and had tracked him.

🔴 Community in Shock, Fear Grips the Area

Residents of Rajpura Bhain and Julana are in shock. “It’s horrifying. Such a cold-blooded killing has never happened here before,” said a local resident. Parents and community leaders have demanded increased police patrolling, especially in areas bordering Rohtak and Jind, which have recently seen a spike in gang-related crimes.

🔴 What’s Next in the Investigation?

Senior officers are supervising the probe, and a special team has been formed to track the attackers. The police are:

  • Scanning CCTV footage from petrol pumps and highways.

  • Checking mobile tower dumps in the area during the incident.

  • Examining Rishi’s call records and financial transactions.

  • Interrogating known associates of Rishi from nearby districts.

✅ Final Word: Another Wake-up Call for Haryana Police

This attack is the latest in a string of gang-related shootings across Haryana, including recent encounters in Jalandhar, Karnal, and Sirsa. The killing of Rishi Lohan has again highlighted the growing gang menace in semi-urban areas and the urgent need for crackdown on arms trafficking and local gang syndicates.

With public safety at stake, it remains to be seen how quickly police nab the culprits and whether this prompts policy-level reforms in crime prevention across the state.
