Now not only students but also teachers will be seen in uniform in government schools of Chandigarh. The Education Department has decided to implement a regular dress code for the principals and teaching staff of all government schools.
This rule will come into effect from July 20, 2025. Its purpose is to promote discipline and a sense of equality in schools.
Know why the rule was brought
The Education Department says that just as students show a sense of discipline and equality in school by wearing the same uniform, similarly the same dress code of teachers will promote discipline, unity and professional environment in the school. This will also have a good effect on the image of the school and the staff will be able to set an example for the students.
Teachers will have to wear this uniform every Monday and sometimes this dress code can also be implemented on special occasions, as decided by the school head or education officer.
