Ludhiana Woman Files FIR Against Husband for Sharing Obscene Photos, Domestic Violence Alleged

Date:

Ludhiana, Punjab – July 10, 2025 – A disturbing case of domestic abuse and cyber harassment has emerged from Ludhiana, where a newlywed woman approached the Women Cell Police Station, accusing her husband of physical violence and leaking her obscene photographs online.

The victim, Usha Devi, has filed a detailed complaint against her husband Mohd. Faizal, leading to a formal FIR registration under Sections 61 IT and 351 IPC.

💔 Marriage Turned Nightmare After 2024 Wedding

As per police records and the victim’s statement, Usha Devi married Mohd. Faizal in 2024 with high hopes of a peaceful life. However, trouble began shortly after the wedding, when her husband allegedly began physically assaulting her regularly.

Usha alleges that the abuse escalated to a point where her husband began threatening her life and posting her private photographs on social media platforms to harass and defame her.

🚨 FIR Registered, Investigation Underway

Inspector Manjeet Kaur, the Investigating Officer from Women Cell Police Station, confirmed that a formal FIR has been registered against the accused under:

  • Section 61 (of the IT Act) – related to circulation of obscene material

  • Section 351 (of IPC) – pertaining to assault and criminal intimidation

The case is currently under investigation, and police teams are examining digital evidence related to the alleged image uploads and abuse history.

🧩 Victim’s Statement: “I Was Threatened with Death”

Usha Devi told the police:

“My husband started hitting me soon after marriage. Things got worse when he clicked inappropriate photos of me without consent and shared them online. He also threatened to kill me if I told anyone.”

She further mentioned that she tried to tolerate the abuse initially due to societal pressure but finally gathered courage to report it to the authorities.

👮 Police Taking Cyber Evidence Seriously

With the rise in cybercrime in domestic settings, Ludhiana Police is reportedly working to retrieve data from social media servers, identify all platforms where the photos were circulated, and trace digital footprints of the accused.

Officials stated that the privacy violation, along with life threats, makes this a serious cognizable offence, and the accused will be summoned for interrogation at the earliest.

⚖️ Legal Consequences for the Accused

If proven guilty, the accused faces:

  • Imprisonment under IT Act provisions (for publishing obscene content)

  • Criminal charges for domestic violence

  • Possibility of non-bailable charges if intent to cause physical harm and defamation is established

Police sources have also hinted that more charges may be added if evidence suggests a pattern of harassment or blackmail.

🙏 Appeal for Justice and Protection

Usha Devi has appealed to the authorities for security and swift legal action, fearing retaliation from her husband or his relatives.

Women’s rights activists have also condemned the act, demanding strict punishment and fast-track trial to ensure justice.

“This is a gross violation of dignity and trust. Women must not suffer in silence. We stand by the survivor,” said a Ludhiana-based NGO worker.
