After applying colour to her hair at Hair Masters Private Limited Salon located in Sector-9C, Chandigarh, Mohali resident Kamalpreet Kaur’s health deteriorated. Due to which she had to be hospitalised for 3 days. Now the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has held the salon guilty of deficiency in service and ordered to return Rs 54,307.
Kamalpreet told in the complaint filed in the Consumer Court that on March 10, 2023, she had contacted the salon for hair colouring and other services. The salon staff described a hairdresser named Sahil Ali as the most skilled and advised her to get her hair coloured from him. For this, she was charged Rs 12,000 for colour and Rs 5,900 for the bet box.
She was admitted in the hospital for 3 days
Immediately after applying colour to her hair, she started feeling dizzy, vomiting and uneasy. When the condition worsened, the complainant’s mother immediately took her to CHD City Hospital in Sector-9C. After examination, the doctors said that all this happened due to allergy. She had to be admitted to the hospital for 3 days and the total expenses came to Rs 21,907.
It was also mentioned in the complaint that even in the condition of allergy, the salon staff did not provide any first aid nor helped in calling an ambulance or taxi. The commission considered this negligence of the salon as deficiency in service.
