The result of the election of the executive body of Mullapur Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) will be released today. The victory of Aam Aadmi Party leaders is almost certain in this election. Because there is no one in the fray against them. Along with the politics of Punjab, now the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will play their role in the cricket of the state as well.
Many leaders have filed nominations for the PCA elections so far. Among them, former PCA president Amarjit Singh Mehta has again filed nomination for the top post. Mehta is considered close to the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party. His son Padamjit Singh has become the mayor of Aam Aadmi Party from Bathinda for the first time. This election is no less interesting, because he was only an elected councilor of the party. However, later many councilors joined his party. He became the mayor by winning 33 votes out of the 50-member house.
AAP MLA also filed nomination
Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Mohali and former mayor Kulwant Singh has filed nomination for the post of secretary. AAP general secretary Deepak Bali has filed nomination for the post of vice president, while Siddharth Sharma has filed nomination for the post of joint secretary. He is from Chandigarh. Punjab State Planning Board vice chairman Sunil Gupta has filed nomination for the post of treasurer.
There are more than 400 members
Apart from this, Kamal Kumar, Amarinder Veer Singh and Saheb Jeet Singh have filed nominations for the Apex Council. Vikram Kumar from the Institution, while Amarinder Singh, Rajat Bhardwaj, Chanchal Kumar, Amit Bajaj, Veer Devendra Singh and in-charge are named from the District Association. Remember that PCA currently has about 400 members. These include big political figures, businessmen, big officials and former cricketers.
Members increased in the list of category ‘A’
According to the records of PCA, this time the number of ‘category-A’ members has increased significantly. While this number was 249 in the election notification of 2022 and 2023, this number has increased to 402 in the list of 2025. These include many well-known and influential people.
