Ludhiana: The Modi government at the Centre has released the quota for 3 months from July to September for the beneficiary families associated with the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, in which after completing the work of distributing 222070092.330 metric tonnes of grains for 1 crore 51 lakh 86871 members of 39,78488 families related to 23 districts of Punjab, now soon the work of distributing wheat will be started at 16,609 ration depots across the state.
After the completion of the work of distributing wheat, various teams of officers and employees of the Food and Supply Department have started a series of meetings to finalize the plan of distributing wheat to the beneficiary families including the arrival of wheat stock at the respective ration depots so that the work of distributing wheat at the ration depots can be completed before the paddy crop season starts in the state. Let us also tell you that by the end of August, paddy will start arriving in all the Mandis and procurement centers across Punjab. In such a situation, the responsibility of managing the purchase of the crop, arranging vehicles for loading and unloading the goods from the Mandis, cleanliness, arranging sacks for loading goods and arranging other basic facilities is on the shoulders of the officials.
It is worth noting that the central government is providing 15 kg of wheat free for 3 months at the rate of 5 kg per member to blue and smart ration card holders, while Antyodaya ration card holders are given 35 kg of wheat per member, but most of the ration depot holders and the employees of the Food Supply Department have been playing a dirty game of big fraud in the 35 kg of wheat given to Antyodaya ration card holders per member by colluding with each other.
Wheat distribution work will start soon: Controller Cheema
Food and Supplies Department West Circle Controller Sartaj Singh Cheema said that the department will soon complete the work of delivering wheat to all 1602 ration depots related to Ludhiana district so that the work of distributing wheat to the beneficiary families can be completed within the stipulated time. He made the beneficiary families associated with the scheme aware about taking along with them the entire wheat share and the slips issued from the e-pass machines. Controller Cheema said that every grain of wheat is a trust of the poor families. Any kind of tampering or negligence will not be tolerated in this.
