Lal Pari contract is open from 7 am… Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab is running a strong campaign against these drugs and is motivating the youth to stay away from drugs. But a different scene is being seen in Agampur (Ghanru) village located near the land of Gurus, Sri Anandpur Sahib.
Although the shops around this contract open after 9 am, but due to the grace of the Excise Department, the Agampur contract opens before sunrise and the alcoholics start getting their Lal Pari before 7 am. Seeing this contract open before time, it seems as if the orders of the Punjab government do not apply to it. The drunkards are seen here early in the morning after the night’s break. The service of the contractors here is so fast that the intoxication which should be available after 9 am, is available before 7 am.
This liquor shop which opens before time on the Gadhshankar-Shri Anandpur Sahib main road is not visible to the officers of the Excise Department. This department is sleeping soundly on this issue. When we talked to the department’s inspector Manpreet Singh on phone about the opening of this shop, we got the same old answer that we check this Agampur shop. This checking done by the department remains limited to papers only. Because the liquor contractors pay the full price of the loyalty of the department’s officers.
