A wave of mourning spread in Badakhalsa village when the nephew of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini’s OSD Virendra Badakhalsa died in a road accident. The deceased Preet was the only 22-year-old son of Virendra’s elder brother Jaidev Dahiya. The accident happened on Monday afternoon when Preet was going towards Parker Road on a bike. Suddenly something came in front of the bike on the way, due to which he lost balance and his bike collided with a tree on the roadside.
According to eyewitnesses, Preet was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He got injured due to serious head injury. Passersby immediately took him to the nearest hospital, but doctors declared him dead.
The news of the death of the only son brought a mountain of sorrow on the family and mourning prevailed in the entire village. The police have kept the body in the mortuary of the civil hospital for post-mortem. Preet’s last rites will be performed in the village after the post-mortem at 9.30 am on Tuesday.
