Due to heavy rains, the road leading to Pathankot-Airport has been completely damaged. Local MLA Balinder Rajan and administrative officials who reached the spot took stock of the situation. Meanwhile, the train kept passing over the railway bridge built on the Delhi-Pathankot-Jammu railway route and the safety wall of the bridge below was washed away. At the same time, a machine engaged in the construction work was washed away due to the strong impact of the mill and Dhanghu Majra, Dhanghu Peer road has also been closed by the department from the point of view of safety. Local MLA Balinder Rajan, SDM Dr. Sundar Thakur, Tehsildar Public Works Department employees, local police officers and senior railway officials reached the spot to take stock of the situation, after which this road was closed for traffic.
It is worth mentioning that even 3 years ago, due to this road being closed, a way was made through the middle of the Military Hospital and it was opened for the convenience of the local people. Even today, DC was present on the spot. There was a demand to open an alternative route for school students from Kangra. Remember that every year due to heavy rains the situation in Chakki river becomes abnormal. The main reason for this is the illegal mining going on indiscriminately in Chakki, due to which mining material worth lakhs and crores of rupees is being extracted, but the administration and police are silent.
