Know when and howAn amount of Rs 22.97 crore has been released by the Punjab Government to 4503 beneficiaries of Scheduled Castes during the current financial year 2025-26 under the “Aashirwad Scheme”. In this regard, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority Affairs Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur informed that under this scheme, applications of a total of 4503 beneficiaries from districts Amritsar, Barnala, Faridkot, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Mansa, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Patiala, Pathankot, Rupnagar, Mohali, Sangrur, Malerkotla and Tarn Taran were received on the Ashirwad portal. An amount of Rs 22.97 crore has been released to cover them.
Out of this, financial assistance has been provided to 1268 beneficiaries of district Amritsar, 107 of Barnala, 343 of Faridkot, 193 of Fatehgarh Sahib, 57 of Gurdaspur, 668 of Hoshiarpur, 286 of Mansa, 255 of Sri Muktsar Sahib, 349 of Patiala, 55 of Pathankot, 196 of Rupnagar, 266 of Mohali, 155 of Sangrur, 37 of Malerkotla and 268 beneficiaries of Tarn Taran.
Let us tell you that under the Ashirwad Scheme run by the Punjab Government, financial assistance of ₹ 51,000 is given to eligible beneficiaries. To make the application process easier to avail the benefits of this scheme, the government has started the facility of applying on the online portal. The minister said that interested beneficiaries can apply on the online portal from home with all the necessary documents to avail the benefits of the scheme. Beneficiaries can apply one month before and one month after the marriage date of their daughter.
