Granthi Singh did this deed Granthi Dharam Singh appointed in Gurdwara Sukh Sagar Sahib located in village Bhalur has been accused of drinking alcohol and eating meat inside the Gurughar. The villagers had taken these complaints to the Gurudwara Management Committee.
The villagers suspected that Granthi Sahib consumes intoxicants and also eats non-vegetarian food there while staying in the Gurudwara. The committee started monitoring this and after a few days they also got concrete evidence of this. The committee members made a video of him, in which he could be seen consuming intoxicants and meat. Yesterday, the village sarpanch, Gurudwara committee and other prominent people called a meeting in the Gurudwara, in which Granthi Dharam Singh was called and shown all the evidence. He accepted his mistake and admitted that he used to cook and eat eggs and meat in the Gurudwara itself and also used to drink alcohol.
After this, the committee first punished him itself and then handed him over to the police. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, SHO Janak Raj of police station Samalsar himself reached the village and discussed with the Sangat. During this, the Granthi apologized in writing and vowed never to make such a mistake in future. The village Panchayat, Sangat and Gurudwara Committee immediately relieved him from the service of the Gurudwara and banned him from serving in any Gurughar in future. A large number of Sangat including representatives of the Gram Panchayat were present in the meeting.
