Punjab Good Governance and Information Technology Minister Aman Arora said that taking an important step towards providing citizen-centric governance, the Punjab Government has made 30 services of the Transport Department including Registration Certificate (RC) and Driving License (DL) available through Seva Kendras and doorstep delivery, due to which now people do not need to go to the RTO office or depend on agents for these services.
Aman Arora chaired a high-level meeting with senior officers and all Deputy Commissioners at Magsipa here and reviewed the implementation of the recently launched services of the Revenue and Transport Departments through Seva Kendras and doorstep delivery.
It is notable that six services of the Revenue Department, including deed registration, mutation on the basis of ancestral rights, mutation on the basis of registered deed, fardbadar (correction in record), report, subscription and request for digitally signed copy of fard, besides 30 services of the Transport Department have been made available through Seva Kendras. He informed that under the ‘Mukhyamantri Bhagwant Mann Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ scheme, people can avail these services from their homes by calling on helpline number 1076.
Aman Arora directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure smooth implementation of this initiative and take strict action against officers/employees who force citizens to run around offices by unnecessarily raising objections regarding these services. Aman Arora said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to make public services more accessible and citizen-oriented. This initiative will benefit thousands of citizens, reduce their hassles and enhance their experience.Aman Arora said that the State Government is working tirelessly to provide citizen-centric services to them by reducing additional expenses and unnecessary hassles of the people while ensuring transparency and efficiency in the delivery of services. He also asked the Deputy Commissioners to make people aware about the availability of these services through Seva Kendras and doorstep delivery.
Appealing to the people to take advantage of this initiative, Aman Arora said that citizens can now avail these services from their homes by dialing 1076 helpline number and they no longer need to visit offices frequently. He informed that the convenience fee for doorstep delivery services has been reduced from Rs.120 to only Rs.50. Additional Chief Secretary Revenue Anurag Verma, Additional Chief Secretary Good Governance and Information Technology D.K. Tiwari, Administrative Secretary Transport Varun Roojam, Secretary Revenue Department Sonali Giri, Director Good Governance and I.T. Other senior officials including Amit Talwar and State Transport Commissioner Mr Jaspreet Singh were present.
