Police has registered a case against 3 accused who tried to extort ransom from a person in the name of gangsters and arrested them.
Businessman Satish Kumar resident of Talwandi Sabo told in a complaint lodged with Talwandi Sabo police station that he received a call from an unknown person the other day who told him that he is a gangster’s man and demanded Rs 2.5 lakh from him. When he expressed his inability to give that much money, he demanded Rs 1 lakh which he refused to give. After this, the accused told him that he is sending some people to his house and he should give them Rs 50,000. But he refused to give the said money as well. On investigation by the police, it was found that the said mobile number belonged to Inderjit Singh resident of Talwandi Sabo who demanded ransom in the name of gangsters. In this work, the accused was assisted by his two other accomplices Nazir Khan and Salim Khan resident of Talwandi Sabo. The police arrested the accused immediately after finding them. The police is taking further action in this case.
