Let us tell you that due to continuous rain in Himachal and Punjab for the last 2 days, the water level of Pong Dam has increased to 1343.19 feet. Due to rain in Himachal, there is a total flow of 29 thousand 265 cusecs of water in Maharana Pratap Lake of Pong Dam and the water being released from Pong Dam to Shah Canal Barrage is 18 thousand 502 cusecs. Due to this, the water level of Shah Canal Barrage has increased to 330.700 meters. Let us tell you that water is being released into the Beas River through 4 flood gates from Shah Canal Barrage. BBMB The department is advising the villagers living on the banks of the river in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh not to go near the water so that there is no loss of life and property.
