weather changes mood Monsoon has once again picked up pace in Punjab. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in many districts today, which is likely to continue for the next three days. In the last 24 hours, the average temperature of the state has dropped by 1.7 degrees, which is 3.8 degrees below normal.
According to the department, light to moderate rain may occur in 50-75% parts of district Pathankot, Hoshiarpur and Rupnagar, while heavy rain is expected in Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Nawanshahr, Bathinda, Muktsar, Fazilka, Mansa, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Sangrur and Patiala. Apart from this, light to moderate rain is also forecast in some parts of Ferozepur, Moga, Faridkot, Amritsar and Tarn Taran.
Let us tell you that till now the highest temperature has been recorded in district Bathinda at 38 degrees while the highest rainfall of 32.4 mm has been recorded in Patiala.
