On the other hand, due to the release of water in the morning in the Kol Dam built on the Sutlej river, the management has advised the people of Punjab not to go to the river bank. Due to this, the water level of the river will increase by 4-5 meters. The dam management said that after the release of water from the Kol Dam, the water of the Sutlej River first enters Ropar (Rupnagar) in Punjab. Beyond Ropar, the river flows westward and passes through Ludhiana district. After this, it joins the Beas River near Harike-Pattan and then turns towards the south-west direction and flows along the India-Pakistan border. Finally, this river enters Pakistan and joins the Chenab River near Bahawalpur. Now that water has been released from the Kol Dam, the dam management has advised the people living on the banks of the river to be cautious and stay away from the Sutlej River.
