Punjab Police has taken a big action and arrested a person from Kangra. Police has arrested a youth with 9.38 kg of poppy husk near the crematorium located in Industrial Area Phase-1. He has been identified as Vikas Chand (age 29 years) resident of Kangra (Himachal). The accused has been produced in the court and taken on remand.
The police team was patrolling near the light point at around 7.30 pm, when they saw a young man coming on foot from Dariya village, who was trying to run away. On suspicion, the employees caught him. When the police searched the bag, 9.38 kg of poppy husk was recovered from it. Police have registered a case against the accused under sections of the NDPS Act.
