The Punjab government has taken a serious step in Mohali and declared a radius of 5 km as ‘Red Zone’. Under this, the movement of horses in this area has now been completely banned. According to the information, an area between 5 to 25 km has been marked as a screening zone, where horses will be examined and monitored.
This decision has been taken after the confirmation of an infectious and incurable disease called glanders, which has come to the fore after being found in a horse in a village in Mohali. The worrying thing is that this disease can also spread from horses to humans, which further increases the risk of its infection. Following the instructions of the government, the Punjab Police has also banned the movement of all horses in the red zone, including government horses. Its purpose is to stop the spread of the disease and control the situation. The government has appealed to the people to immediately inform the administration about any animal with suspicious symptoms so that appropriate action can be taken in time.
