There is great good news for the devotees of Punjab going to the court of Vaishno Devi. In fact, today Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the new Vande Bharat Express from Punjab to Maa Vaishno Devi’s court Katra through digital medium from Bengaluru. After this, this train will start for the general public from August 11. This high-speed train will complete the journey between Amritsar and Katra in just 5 hours 35 minutes.
Giving information in this regard, D.R.M. Railway officials of office Ferozepur said that this will increase tourism and economic activities in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. He said that now a total of 5 Vande Bharat (10 services) will be available in Punjab. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat Express will stop at Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar City and Beas stations. This semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express is completely indigenous and is equipped with armor system.
The train also has foldable snack tables, mobile charging ports, comfortable seats, modern toilets and entertainment facilities and each coach is fitted with a GPS based real-time tracking system so that passengers can get information about the station, speed and location at every moment.
