This news is very important for the students studying in class 5th across Punjab. The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), which manages the examination for class 5th students, has released the study plan for the session 2025-26. The council has said that every student will have to appear in all five subjects and get at least 33 percent marks to pass.
It is worth mentioning that according to the study plan prescribed for class V, a total of 500 marks have been kept for this examination, out of which 20 percent marks will be for CCA (co-curricular activities). The council has said that to get promoted in the evaluation, it will be mandatory for the candidate to get 33 percent marks separately in the written examination of each subject and CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation). If a student takes Punjabi, Hindi or Urdu as the first language, then he will not be able to take the same subject as a second language. The assessment and evaluation tools for students with special abilities will be prepared at the school level, as the e-certificates of annual assessment March 2026 and re-assessment May 2026 will contain the same details that will be available on the e-Punjab portal.
