The conflict between the state government and the central government is increasing over ration cards in Punjab. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann says that the Center is conspiring to cut 8 lakh ration cards in Punjab. Due to this, lakhs of people of the state will not be able to get free ration.
Earlier also 23 lakh people have been deprived of this facility. Now due to this conspiracy of the government, a total of 55 lakh people will be deprived of this facility. The Punjab government says that the criteria for cutting ration cards by the Center are wrong. It is worth noting that at present there are 1.53 crore beneficiaries in the state, who are getting cheap grains through ration cards. The Center has asked to investigate them, while according to the Punjab government, 1.29 crore beneficiaries have been verified. The central government has completely rejected these allegations of the Chief Minister.
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi says that the Center has only asked to identify ineligible beneficiaries. The minister has clarified that the central government has not removed any of the 1.41 crore beneficiaries approved. Chief Minister Mann has said that we will get these cards checked by our department. This will help us find out if there is any person whose ration card should not have been made but has been made.
