The district administration has taken action against 12 plot owners who did not remove garbage from their empty plots and imposed a fine of Rs 3 lakh on them. While chairing a review meeting with the officials, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that the administration has received 440 complaints so far through the DC Office Action Helpline. After this, notices have been sent to all 440 plot owners. He further said that red entries have already been registered in 12 cases for not following the orders. Dr. Aggarwal appealed to the residents to actively cooperate in this campaign by sending information about the garbage accumulated in empty plots, correct address of the plot and brief description on WhatsApp helpline number 9646-222-555. He clarified that this number is only for WhatsApp messages, not for phone calls. He also informed that garbage has been removed from 111 empty plots in the district. Dr Agarwal reiterated the commitment of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to make Punjab the cleanest state in the country. The Deputy Commissioner also informed that 64 stray animals have been sent to shelter homes after receiving 37 complaints on the helpline. He ordered PSPCL to impose fine on telecom companies laying illegal wires and remove the unused wires immediately. Along with this, Dr Agarwal has also issued show cause notices to officers/employees who have not completed the duties assigned to them under Punjab Road Cleanliness Mission.
