The situation is such that in view of the possibility of floods in the entire Punjab, control rooms have been set up at the tehsil level, whose phone numbers are available for the service of the people 24 hours a day. Similarly, the Punjab government has issued the Balachaur control room number 01885-220075 for the people, about which today District Administration Officer Anamjot Kaur, SDM Headquarters Nawanshahr also released the said number to the media, but despite repeated calls at around 6 pm today, no one picked up the emergency number of the control room, which clearly shows the incompetence of the Balachaur administration. It is worth mentioning that the entire Bet area of Balachaur is adjacent to the Sutlej river, under which the situation around villages like Bela Tajowal, Auliapur etc. has become horrific many times and still remains so, but the emergency number issued to the people is shown only to mislead the higher officials and the Punjab government. According to sources, the SDM goes to Balachaur dam every day and releases pictures to the media for show, but in reality his administrative system is out of control or indifferent.
