In Atal Nagar of Tibba area, 2 thieves entered 6 houses of the area and sprayed intoxicating substance on the sleeping people, making them unconscious and stole about 10 mobiles and 50 thousand rupees from the houses. The incident came to light when the family woke up late in the morning. Then seeing the things scattered in the house and stolen, they informed the police, after which the police of Subhash Nagar outpost under Tibba police station reached the spot. During investigation, the police found footage of a CCTV camera in which 2 youths were seen holding a spray bottle in their hands. The police has taken the footage in its possession and started further investigation.
Giving information about the case, Sahul said that late at night all the families remain awake till about 11 o’clock. Around 12 o’clock all the families were asleep and late at night unknown persons jumped over the wall and entered a house. As soon as they entered, they sprayed the sleeping family members, after which they became unconscious. The accused started committing the theft. The accused entered 6 houses one by one and stole 10 mobile phones and cash worth about 50 thousand rupees.
Along with this, they also took bags and other items from the house. When I woke up in the morning, I was dizzy, after which I saw that the rest of the people were also in a state of unconsciousness. I came to know that this has happened in not one but 6 houses. As soon as the theft was known, panic spread in the area. At a short distance, bags and clothes were found lying in an empty plot which they had stolen from the house. They complained about this to the police. On the other hand, ASI Gurdial Singh, in-charge of the outpost Subhash Nagar, said that the accused have been caught in the CCTV camera. The footage has been taken into custody. The matter is being investigated. The accused will be arrested soon.
