The teachers and staff of government senior secondary schools of Ludhiana district have collectively contributed Rs 31,53,000 to the Punjab Chief Minister Flood Relief Fund, which will strengthen the flood relief work going on in the state.
This collective contribution was formally presented to Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains by a delegation of teachers led by District Education Officer (Secondary), Ludhiana Dimple Madan at Nangal today. The delegation also included Deputy DEO Amandeep Singh, State Sports Committee member Ajit Pal and Physics lecturer Dinesh Modi.
Harjot Singh Bains praised this initiative of the teachers and said that this special contribution given by our teachers reflects their sensitivity and commitment towards the society. He said that by contributing to the relief work, the teachers have proved that they are dedicated to the society even outside the classroom. This unity will prove helpful in providing relief and rehabilitation to the flood affected people.
The Education Minister said that this noble act highlights teachers as the pillars of the society. He said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is fully committed to help the flood-affected people.
