Following reports of a major scam by a trio at the Goniana Electricity Board, the department has finally swung into action. Based on testimony from Executive Director Sahil Gupta, several teams conducted a massive check in various areas of the Goniana division, sealing several suspicious meters and sending them to the lab to uncover the truth.
According to sources, after the news was published in Punjab Kesari, Executive Director Sahil Gupta immediately called a special meeting and instructed the teams to leave no stone unturned in meter checking. Consequently, the teams went door-to-door, checking meters in shops in the market and surrounding villages. Several meters that came under suspicion were removed, sealed, and immediately sent to the lab. According to residents, this is the first time the department has taken such a major action. People are demanding a vigilance investigation into the matter.
