Under the anti-drug campaign, being conducted under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Akhil Chaudhary, District Sri Muktsar Sahib Police, drug traffickers are being arrested and drugs recovered, while legal action is being taken against properties built through the drug trade. Constructions constructed through illegal occupation of Panchayat or government land are being demolished, and action is also underway to seize the property of drug traffickers.
Today, a police team led by DSP, Sub-Division Malout, Iqbal Singh Sandhu, along with SHO, Sadar Malout, Parvinder Singh, posted a notice at the home of Raju Singh, son of Balveer Singh, resident of Bhagwanpura, who is currently in jail for drug trafficking.
DSP Malout Iqbal Singh Sandhu stated that the police recovered 12 kg 780 grams of opium and 35,000 rupees in drug money from Raju and filed an FIR in Sadar Malout. A case was registered. Previously, an FIR was filed against Raju in Sadar Sri Muktsar Sahib after the seizure of poppy. Now, after obtaining permission from the competent authority, the police have posted a notice outside the accused’s home and initiated the process of confiscating the house, valued at ₹8 lakh.
