A tragic road accident occurred in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, on Tuesday morning. According to reports, a truck carrying devotees from Bathinda, Punjab, traveling to the Maa Chamunda Devi Temple for langar service, collided with a bus and overturned. The impact was so severe that the truck lost control and overturned. Two devotees died on the spot, while approximately 20 others were seriously injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred suddenly and the truck shook violently upon impact. In a panic, many devotees jumped from the moving truck to save their lives, injuring several others. The collision and the truck overturning caused a commotion and chaos. Locals and police immediately arrived at the scene and arranged for the injured to be transported to the hospital. The seriously injured have been referred to Tanda Medical College, while the others are undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital, Dehra. Doctors said the condition of some of the injured remains critical.
It is being reported that all these devotees had left for the Maa Chamunda Devi Temple from Bathinda district of Punjab. Their intention was to organize a langar service at the temple. However, this major accident occurred on the way. Upon receiving the news of the accident, the families of the devotees were in mourning. The exact cause of the accident is being investigated, although preliminary investigations suggest that the accident occurred due to a head-on collision between a truck and a bus.
