The Improvement Trust’s yellow paw swept through the market, destroying everything in no time.

Date:

Illegal encroachments were removed from the market located in front of the Trust office of the Improvement Trust (Improvement Trust). On the instructions of Chairman Gurvinder Singh Pabla, the yellow paw of JCB machines demolished the illegal encroachments in no time. Chairman Pabla stated that the Improvement Trust, through its field staff, took action to address public complaints and removed illegal encroachments on roads, public corridors, and green belts in various Trust projects. He explained that the Improvement Trust office had been receiving complaints from the public and nearby shopkeepers for a long time that female customers came to their shops with their families, especially in the evenings. However, these illegal temporary kiosks and shops were being used by unauthorized encroachments and vehicles parked on the roads, allowing anti-social elements to consume alcohol and meat. Due to their abusive language, female customers and family customers are reluctant to visit the shopkeepers.

Chairman Pabla stated that the Trust took this action in public interest. Prior to the action, the Trust office had issued notices to these illegal and unauthorized encroachments and repeatedly instructed staff to remove them. However, due to their inattention, the public and nearby shopkeepers were facing inconvenience. Therefore, the Trust office took action and removed these illegal encroachments from roads, public corridors, and green belts. The staff warned the shopkeepers and other illegal and unauthorized encroachers not to repeat such encroachments in the future. The Chairman stated that the Trust’s field staff removed various encroachments, including one in the Trust’s Scheme No. 10, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, Hoshiarpur, where Urban Kebab had constructed a kitchen by covering the green belt with sheets. He stated that the Trust had issued notices to remove the encroachments, but no action was taken. Similarly, in the Trust’s Scheme No. 11, Sant Harchand Singh Longowal Nagar, Hoshiarpur, notices were issued to remove encroachments on public land by master chefs, but no action was taken by the trust.

He explained that in the Trust’s Scheme No. 11, Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, Hoshiarpur, three shopkeepers had encroached upon the public corridor on the ground floor of the multi-story shops. This was removed in public interest. He urged residents to remove the encroachments on their own, otherwise the Municipal Improvement Trust office in Hoshiarpur would take action on its own, taking into account the needs of the general public. Meanwhile, the encroachers strongly opposed the Trust’s action and went to the Trust office to raise their objections with Chairman Pabla. The angry victims also attempted to block Chandigarh Road.
