Garhshankar police has registered a case against Mandeep Singh alias Deepa, son of Lakhwinder Singh alias Gulzar Singh, resident of village Bathan, police station Nurmahal, district Jalandhar and his 2/3 unknown accomplices under section 103(1), 3(5) of BNS Act and arrested Mandeep Singh on the charge of murder of NRI Santokh Singh and his care taker Manjeet Kaur in village Moranwali.
According to the registered case, SHO Gagandeep Singh was checking at Sekhon Adda Kitna, when the informer informed him that NRI Santokh Singh was in the house of Manjeet Kaur. Santokh Singh, son of Gyan Singh, resident of village Moranwali, and his caretaker, Manjit Kaur, wife of Lakhwinder Singh, resident of village Batha, were murdered by Manjit Kaur’s son, Mandeep Singh, along with two or three of his friends, because Mandeep Singh had learned of his mother Manjit Kaur’s illicit relationship with NRI Santokh Singh and was trying to stop her from doing so. Based on the statements of SHO Gagandeep Singh Sekhon, a case was registered against the accused at the Garhshankar police station and Mandeep Singh was arrested.
