MLA Ashok Parshwar Pappi went live on his Facebook page today and made serious allegations of “police surveillance and political conspiracy” against him. He said that some political figures are colluding to mislead the public and leveling false accusations against him. The MLA stated that the Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner had already made it clear in a press conference that no shops can be set up on the road. The permission for the stalls is limited to the grounds only, not the roads.
He explained that the people of the area have been receiving constant complaints. Setting up shops outside the grounds is causing significant inconvenience to patients and children traveling to schools and hospitals. “I stand with the public; no one will be allowed to set up shops outside the grounds,” the MLA said.
MLA Pappi also stated that he does not need a certificate from any Sant Samaj because he himself belongs to a Santani family. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, when people were confined to their homes, he was helping the public by carrying the Balaji flag. He categorically rejected the charge of 2,000 rupees as rent, saying he stood with the poor and would not allow anyone to be charged such a rent.
The MLA also made serious allegations against a corporation employee, alleging he was in cahoots with “political stuntmen.” “I intend to file a defamation case against him and demand an investigation by the Vigilance Department,” he said. Finally, Pappi appealed to the public to stay away from those who indulge in drama for political gain. “I stand with the public and the poor; I will not allow shops to be set up outside the grounds at any cost,” the MLA stated firmly.
