According to reports, the Municipal Corporation is preparing to regularize 85 colonies in Jalandhar, after which their bills will begin arriving.
The Municipal Corporation has already opened MC codes for five colonies and regularized over 500 connections, charging a fee of ₹3,000 for residential properties and ₹6,000 for commercial properties. When a colonizer develops a colony within the corporation’s limits, it provides sewer and water connections. Residents have obtained connections in colonies 3 to 5 years old, but these have not been regularized. Even when the colonies have been regularized, they are not listed on the corporation’s portal. Due to this, the corporation is unable to distribute their bills, which directly impacts the municipal corporation’s revenue.
Codes will be opened for these colonies:
Jalandhar Enclave, Residency Vihar, Green Mall, Sadhu Singh Colony, Kulwant Colony, New Kamal Vihar, Sainik Vihar Extension, Mehar Enclave, Punjab Avenue, Orchid Colony, Happy Colony, King Colony, New Arora Colony, Sudama Vihar Extension, New Light Colony, Udham Singh Nagar, Guru Nanak Avenue, Mubarakpur Sheikhe, Red Rose Colony, Punjabi Bagh, Rose Enclave, Basant Hill, Sunshine Valley, Taran Enclave, Park Avenue, Sidhu Enclave, New Universal Colony, Pawar Nagar, Vishal Garden, Gulmohar Green, Deep Colony, Arora Colony, Bachint Nagar Extension, Gurmohar City Near Main Road, Star Paradise Extension, Hargobind Nagar, Dhogri Road, Sagar Colony, Aman Vihar, Venus Colony, and others.
The Municipal Corporation has started the work of opening MC codes of the colonies and sewer and water bills will be collected from these colonies. Among these colonies, codes of Jhansi Colony, Deep Colony, Taran Enclave and Punjabi Bagh have been opened first, the work of regularizing their connections has also been started. After this, MC codes of 84 more colonies will be opened. After this, these colonies will be included on the corporation portal. After the colonies are included on the portal, the Municipal Corporation will collect sewer and water bills every 3 months.
