New update on vehicle challans in Jalandhar! If you break 3 rules…

Date:

The traffic police have begun raising awareness about e-challans at major intersections in the city. Along with the public, traffic police officers also provided several tips to the employees. Now, after a few days of awareness, the traffic police will issue e-challans using CCTV cameras for violating three types of rules. Gradually, all rules will be covered under e-challans.

ADCP Traffic Gurbaj Singh and ACP Traffic Mahesh Kumar took to the field on Tuesday and visited major intersections to raise awareness. They instructed people to stop their vehicles before the zebra line at red lights, avoid jumping red lights, and avoid driving on the wrong side. The ADCP said that these tips are given even when issuing driving licenses, but people do not follow them. Furthermore, the ADCP… Gurbaj Singh instructed the officers to continue raising awareness among the public while deployed at checkpoints so that people develop the habit of parking their vehicles before the zebra line, not jumping red lights, and not driving on the wrong side. He stated that after a few days of awareness generation, these three types of e-challans will be implemented first. After that, similar e-challans will be issued to those violating other rules. ADCP Traffic stated that the e-challan system will soon be implemented in the city. Just as people follow all rules before going to Chandigarh, they should now inculcate the same habit in Jalandhar so that traffic rules can be followed properly by implementing this system.

Police can track people by looking at CCTV cameras if their number plate is missing. ADCP Traffic Gurbaj Singh stated that 1,150 CCTV cameras have been installed across the city. If any vehicle is seen without a number plate in any camera, then the control room will immediately inform the traffic police team stationed nearby, after which the police will chase the said vehicle, catch it and issue a challan. Apart from this, after questioning the vehicle about the reason for not having a number plate and not being involved in any criminal activity, the vehicle will be released after issuing a challan. Apart from this, even if any letter of the number plate is missing, a challan will be issued. He said that this work has been assigned to their manual challan issuing teams.
