Considering the forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, the Technical Committee meeting held today decided that the maximum possible discharge from the turbines of the Pong Dam Power House and approximately 32,000 cusecs of water from the spillway gates, totaling 50,000 cusecs of water including the turbines, will be released from 12 noon on October 4th.
In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner, Kangra (Dharamshala), Sub-Divisional Officer, Fatehpur, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Indora, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Dehra, Member, Irrigation, BBMB, Chandigarh, Secretary, BBMB, Chandigarh, Chief Engineer, Beas Dam, BBMB, Talwara, and Director, Water Regulation, BBMB, Nangal have been informed. In view of this, the concerned civil, irrigation, drainage, and flood control authorities in Himachal Pradesh have been requested to take cognizance of the same and take all necessary precautionary and preparedness measures accordingly.
