The Railways has decided to run two special trains from Chandigarh and Ambala on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath Puja (October 27). This will increase seat availability on trains bound for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Both trains will travel via Varanasi to Dhanbad and Patna via Varanasi. One of these trains will be unreserved, while the other will have third and second AC coaches. According to information, the train to Varanasi via Chandigarh via Daulatpur Chowk will run every Saturday from October 4. The second train from Chandigarh to Dhanbad will run twice a week starting October 5. Previously, a Chandigarh-Patna special train was announced, with a waiting list until October 30. Both new trains have been introduced keeping in mind the convenience of passengers.
Train number 04514 will depart Chandigarh at 10 pm today.
Train number 04514 will depart Chandigarh every Saturday at 10 pm and arrive in Varanasi at 1:50 pm the next day. It will depart from Varanasi every Monday at 12:45 pm and arrive in Chandigarh at 5:30 am the next day. The entire train will be unreserved, and tickets can be purchased over-the-counter. The travel time will be 16 hours and 45 minutes.
Garib Rath Special (Train No. 03311/12)
This train will run between Chandigarh and Dhanbad every Sunday and Friday at 6 am and arrive in Varanasi at 12:45 pm. On the return journey, the train will depart from Varanasi on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:50 am and arrive in Chandigarh at 4:30 am the next day. It has third and second AC coaches. The Railways has opened bookings.
Chandigarh-Patna Special Train (Train No. 04503-04) Fully Booked
This special train running between Chandigarh and Patna is fully booked until October 30. The train will depart from Chandigarh every Friday at 11:45 pm and arrive in Varanasi at 4:35 pm the next day. Tickets are also unavailable for this. Therefore, the Railways has decided to run two other special trains.
