Following the Meteorological Department’s forecast of flooding, the Health Department has put health services in Amritsar on alert. Civil Surgeon Dr. Swaranjit Dhawan has ordered 24-hour health services at the government hospitals in Ramdas, Ajnala, and Lopoke. The leave of department officials, doctors, and staff has been canceled until further notice. Speaking to the media, Civil Surgeon Dr. Swaranjit Dhawan stated that after a special consultation with senior medical officers at the Ajnala, Lopoke, and Ramdas government hospitals, they have been instructed to maintain 24-hour health services.
Furthermore, services at district-level civil hospitals have also been ordered to continue uninterrupted. Instructions have been given to ensure the availability of medicines and essential supplies in these hospitals. A control room has been established in the district under the leadership of Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajinder Kaur, and the situation is being monitored.
