Three people were killed and four others seriously injured in a tragic road accident yesterday morning near the Tandiyan Wale Dhaba on Dhanaula Road on the Barnala-Chandigarh Highway. The accident occurred when an Alto car lost control, crossed a divider, and collided with another oncoming car. Upon receiving information about the incident, SHO Jagraj Singh of Police Station Sadar and SHO Charanjit Singh of Police Station City-2 immediately arrived at the scene. The seriously injured were rushed to the hospital with the help of local residents.
According to information, five injured were admitted to the BMC Hospital in Barnala and two to the Dhanaula Civil Hospital. The MD of BMC Hospital stated that the incident was a serious matter. Dr. Ishan Bansal stated that a total of five injured people were brought to the hospital. Two of them, Noni and Rohit, died before reaching the hospital, while a man named Tejinder succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The condition of one injured, Harsh, is extremely critical. Dr. Jaswinderjit Kaur, emergency officer at Dhanaula Civil Hospital, stated that two injured people, husband and wife Sanjay Kaushal and Bhavana Kaushal, were brought to the hospital. Both were placed under observation after first aid and are currently in stable condition.
Police stated that the drivers and passengers of both cars involved in the accident have been identified and their families have been informed. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to the civil hospital for postmortem. Officials stated that preliminary investigations indicate that the accident occurred due to speeding and the car losing control. Police have seized both vehicles and launched an investigation into the matter.
