The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) Ludhiana unit, on Thursday, took major action against Kanha Concast, a firm located in Mandi Gobindgarh, and arrested two individuals.
According to reports, the action is related to a massive alleged input tax credit (ITC) fraud case. According to departmental sources, the operation lasted for several hours and involved 3 to 4 teams working together. DGGI teams simultaneously conducted search operations at four different locations connected to the firm, including residential and office premises.
Sources indicate that the firm is suspected of being involved in an ITC scam worth approximately ₹23 to 24 crore. However, officials have not yet officially confirmed this amount. The department stated that the investigation is ongoing and a thorough examination of the relevant documents is being conducted.
