Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister, Tarunpreet Singh Saund, announced that as part of the various events organized by the Punjab government to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the next phase of light and sound shows will be held on November 11th in Amritsar, Ferozepur, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali), and Sangrur. These shows will also be held in other districts of the state on November 14th, 17th, and 20th.
He informed that on November 11th, the light and sound show in Amritsar will be held at the Mela Ground, Ranjit Avenue, and will be attended by Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. In Ferozepur, the show will be held at the Cantonment Stadium, with Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur in attendance. In Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali), the show will be held at the Saras Mela Ground, and will be attended by Education, Information and Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Member of Parliament Malvinder Singh Kang. In Sangrur, the show will be held at Ranbir College and will be attended by Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora, Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal, and Member of Parliament Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer.
On November 14th, the light and sound show at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, will be attended by Tarunpreet Singh Saund, Power, Industry and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora, and Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian. Defense Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat will attend the show at Guru Nanak Stadium in Kapurthala, while Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian will be present at the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium in Sri Muktsar Sahib. Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, Aman Arora, and Member of Parliament Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer will attend the show at Baba Kala Mehar Stadium in Barnala. On November 17th, Jail and Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar will be present at the show held at the Police Stadium in Tarn Taran. Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan will be present at the new grain market in Moga. Harpal Singh Cheema and MP Malvinder Singh Kang will be at the ITI Ground in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, while Gurmeet Singh Khuddian and Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer will be at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium in Bathinda.
On November 20, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and Hardeep Singh Mundian will be present at the Government College in Malerkotla. Harjot Singh Bains and Malvinder Singh Kang will be at the Charan Ganga Stadium in Sri Anandpur Sahib, while Harpal Singh Cheema and Barinder Kumar Goyal will participate at the Nehru Memorial College in Mansa. Minister Saund said that the objective of these light and sound shows is to convey the complete life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, his philosophy, and his great martyrdom for the protection of religion to the masses, so that the new generation can become familiar with this glorious history. He informed that the historical events presented during the light and sound shows previously held in 8 districts – Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Faridkot, Fazilka, and Hoshiarpur – deeply moved the audiences, and everyone highly appreciated the government’s effort.
