The accident occurred when an i20 car coming from Ludhiana rammed into the rear of a truck parked on the side of the road.
Upon receiving information, a team from the Moga Samaj Seva Society arrived at the scene and admitted the injured to Moga Government Hospital. One of the injured was referred to Medicity Hospital as his condition was critical. Gurjeet Singh, the injured, explained that his father had been admitted to DMC, Ludhiana, for the past 10 days, and he had been caring for him. Today, his uncle had come to Ludhiana, and he was traveling back to Zira with them. He added, “I was sitting in the back seat. Hakam Singh was driving, and Ajit Singh was sitting in the front. Suddenly, the car collided directly with a parked truck. Hakam Singh has died, and Ajit Singh is undergoing treatment at DMC. We all live in Zira.”
Police have begun an investigation. Police from Mehna police station have arrived at the scene and begun an investigation. The station in-charge stated that the accident may have been caused by the car speeding or losing control. The truck was parked on the side of the road and the car struck it directly from behind.
