Pavan Kumar, a prominent businessman from Jalandhar, suffered serious negligence at the hands of doctors at Shriman Hospital. After complaining of minor chest pain, he underwent a checkup at Shriman Hospital (now Fortis Shriman Superspeciality Hospital) in Jalandhar. However, the hospital report diagnosed him with a serious condition called “DVD” (Double Vessel Disease), which he did not actually have.
Pawan Kumar stated that he only had minor chest pain and was subsequently discharged. However, the serious condition listed in the report not only affected his mental health but also resulted in the rejection of his health insurance claim. When Pawan Kumar contacted the hospital regarding the issue, Dr. VP Sharma admitted his mistake and corrected the report.
Although Pawan Kumar later presented the corrected report to his insurance company, Star Health Insurance, the company still rejected his claim. Pawan Kumar has filed a case in the Consumer Forum against Shriman Hospital and Star Health Insurance, as he suffered mental distress and trauma for several days.
