District Magistrate Ankurjit Singh issued an order under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code, 2023, stating that pharmacies should only dispense Pregabalin with the permission of a competent doctor and for a prescribed period. He directed that pharmacies maintain complete records of this medication.
The District Magistrate explained that the instructions issued by the Civil Surgeon’s Office state that this medication is commonly used by medical specialists/psychiatrists/GDMOs to treat patients with conditions such as fibromyalgia/neuralgia, but excessive use can lead to its misuse as a drug. Therefore, pharmacies should only dispense Pregabalin with the permission of a competent doctor and for a prescribed period.
Ban on driving with face coverings in the district
District Magistrate Ankurjit Singh, exercising his powers under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, has banned driving with face coverings/masks within the limits of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district. This ban will not apply to individuals wearing masks or other items under medical supervision due to an illness or allergy.
Order Banning Driving with Face Covers
According to the order issued by the District Magistrate, incidents of robbery and theft are commonly committed by drivers (especially two-wheeler riders) wearing face coverings in markets. The District Magistrate stated that it is difficult to identify criminals with their faces covered, and these orders have been issued in light of this. A complete ban on replacing two-wheeler silencers and bursting firecrackers
Similarly, to prevent noise pollution and protect the health of the general public, the District Magistrate has imposed a complete ban on replacing two-wheeler silencers and bursting firecrackers in the district. These orders will also apply to shopkeepers/mechanics who replace silencers and to vehicle owners who burst firecrackers. The above orders will remain in effect until January 16, 2026.
