Himanshu Aggarwal on Saturday ordered an inquiry into the death of a female inmate at Gandhi Vanita Ashram. The woman was found unconscious in the bathroom on Friday night. Officials immediately rushed her to a nearby nursing home, from where she was referred to Civil Hospital, Jalandhar. Doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Dr. Aggarwal directed the concerned SDM to conduct a detailed investigation and submit a report within two weeks. The girl’s parents have also been informed to complete further formalities. A medical board has been formed to conduct a post-mortem, ensuring all medico-legal procedures are completed properly.
Forensic experts and police teams have also launched an investigation to determine the cause of death. The district administration has assured a transparent and thorough investigation into the matter.
