Punjab’s ‘Fog of Death’! These are the 5 intersections where Yamraj awaits you.

Date:

The Rohti Bridge Bypass, Circular Road, Boudan Gate, Bhawanigarh Flyover, and Malerkotla Toll Chowk are extremely dangerous during winter fog. These intersections see numerous road accidents every winter, so a little caution by drivers can save many lives.

In this regard, the young Kotwali police station in-charge, Inspector Sarbjit Singh Cheema, Sadar police station in-charge, Inspector Jaswinder Singh Khokhar, and Bhadson police station chief, Gurpreet Singh Handa, said that as winter is gradually increasing, dense fog is expected in the area in the coming days. Nabha Police, under the leadership of Olympian DSP Mandeep Kaur Cheema, has begun special preparations to prevent road accidents during fog. However, it is essential for people to remain extremely vigilant and cautious during these difficult times.

The three inspectors stated that the Nabha police will make special arrangements in this regard and will also launch campaigns to raise public awareness. By ensuring our own safety, we can contribute to the safety of others as well. Negligence can endanger not only our own lives but also the lives of others. In the coming days, dense fog will reduce visibility on the roads to 10 to 50 feet. Many accidents occur due to the inability to see vehicles from a distance. Following traffic rules can help prevent accidents, and therefore, the traffic police should take strict action against those who violate these rules on national highways.

The inspectors emphasized that low-beam headlights should always be used during foggy or nighttime conditions, as high-beam headlights do not work in fog. Ensure proper use of fog lights. All vehicles, especially heavy vehicles, should be equipped with high-quality reflective tape so they are visible from a distance. Maintain a sufficient distance from the vehicle ahead so that you have time to brake and the vehicle behind you can also perceive your speed. In case of low visibility, drive slowly and stay in your lane. Follow lane markings and slow vehicles should use side lanes.
He informed that the in-charges of all police posts and traffic in-charges in Nabha and Bhadason police station areas are being instructed to strictly enforce traffic rules. Social organizations should also fulfill their responsibilities. Awareness should be spread by putting up flexes on the roads and organizing seminars in educational institutions to make students aware about traffic rules. Only with public cooperation can all kinds of safety be provided to the people.
